What a fellow Photographer/Blogger thinks and expresses about Photography!
How an ordinary man can become a gentleman just because of his way of dressing? How food can be tastier if it is garnished? There isn’t any difference in any of these things. All are still same but your perception has changed!
Photography is basically what “you” perceive from anything whether it is a book, chair or even a needle. You can perceive it in any way you want. A chair is an object to sit on; Some may see it as a helping material! And some who have some memories with it will perceive it their unique way.
When I was asked the reason why I persuaded photography as a hobby. I always answered “Because I want to do something that shows ME”. There is a magic in photography which draws me into it. I know I can’t write well. I know I can’t speak well! It is the way…

Yeah, it’s been ages and now I have come up with something…
here it is, please don’t laugh 😛
My Artist Statement and My Logo!!!
Hi, I’m M B A Khan and I’m an addict, because photography is so addictive!
Always on the edge for opportunities to inspire and be inspired by life and I do it by capturing and savouring those captivating moments. Making pictures that talk. My style is bold – Colours that pop and scream at the viewer. My photography has this surreal touch to it, because “if it’s life-like then what’s that point of photography?” Just like Alfred Stieglitz said and I quote, “In Photography there is a reality so subtle that it becomes more real than reality.” I make pictures that are sometimes unimaginable at first, until I experiment and discover something that can take the viewer beyond imagination. And I do all this with a camera and a lens in front of it.
Photography to me, is not just reflection of reality but also the idea behind it, it’s not as simple as expressions of emotions but also the stories behind them, it’s not mere imagination but how you portray it, and photography is not only a concept but the understanding and implementation of it.
I’m always learning since I’ve found out about my love for photography. You learn with each click that you do. I’m always in the process of evolution in regards to my style of photography. “The way I see things is different, different in colour, shape, taste, value, age and philosophy of it, and this is the creative difference I want others to see in my art.”
Creativity in photography is just another name for experimenting, the more you experiment the more creative you become.
So yeah, I already have a portfolio of such creations, hope you’ll like it…
So? What do you think? 😀 😛
Yes I know I’ve been away for long. Long enough that I didn’t write about a few important occasions and events that happened in last couple of weeks. To make excuses I could say that I was not well, was working overtime, was busy the rest of the time, or just didn’t feel like blogging at all. But to be honest, all my excuses are true.
Yes, I was working over the holiday period because my nature of job doesn’t allow me to take days off when rest of the world is off on holiday. Anyway, like always they were expecting it to be a “White Christmas” this year, because it had snowed in the first week of December, but it didn’t materialize. New Year’s Eve was, to be honest, quieter than last year’s, and the year’s before that, but I couldn’t really think of a reason other than people still suffering from the Credit Crunch and all that _____… But yeah New Year was not all that this year. Though it was quite busy down in London, as my younger brother went down to see the amazing fireworks display that they do near the London Eye every New Year’s Eve.
All this holiday period I was down with chesty cough, flu, cold, fever and what not. Which really didn’t help me enjoy this amazing time of the year when everyone is going crazy. And yeah it wasn’t some normal flu fever kind of thing, it was a viral infection, hundreds of people die in this country every year because of this virus. So I was worried whether or not I will survive it… :S
My status on facebook and twitter on the 01-01-11 was ‘M B A Khan has entered the new year as a Professional Photographer’. This means a lot to me, and I mean a lot! Last year really helped me to make my mind up regarding what do I ‘really’ want to do in life. I have been an artist all my life, that’s what I’ve loved doing, that’s what makes me happy, and that is really what I’m going to make my career in. Yes I have made my mind to become a Professional Photographer. I am going to follow my dream now. I know I have made some wrong decisions in life, but who doesn’t? I once read somewhere that not to learn from a mistake is a bigger mistake. So yeah, I will be one day photographing amazing things and living my dream to the fullest!
Anyway, I’ve got to get ready for work now and I’ll try not to be away for this long again.
Happy New Year Everyone!
Creativity can have as many definitions as the number of creative people in this world, or maybe more. To me, creativity is also a personal choice. “Creative” people see things differently, and the more blessed creative people see different things differently at different times, so I think that creativity depends upon so many factors like time, skills, experience, mood, style and sometimes also available resources.
But above all, I think that being creative is being experimentally original. Yeah, that’s what I think of creativity…
