Yes I know I’ve been away for long. Long enough that I didn’t write about a few important occasions and events that happened in last couple of weeks. To make excuses I could say that I was not well, was working overtime, was busy the rest of the time, or just didn’t feel like blogging at all. But to be honest, all my excuses are true.
Yes, I was working over the holiday period because my nature of job doesn’t allow me to take days off when rest of the world is off on holiday. Anyway, like always they were expecting it to be a “White Christmas” this year, because it had snowed in the first week of December, but it didn’t materialize. New Year’s Eve was, to be honest, quieter than last year’s, and the year’s before that, but I couldn’t really think of a reason other than people still suffering from the Credit Crunch and all that _____… But yeah New Year was not all that this year. Though it was quite busy down in London, as my younger brother went down to see the amazing fireworks display that they do near the London Eye every New Year’s Eve.
All this holiday period I was down with chesty cough, flu, cold, fever and what not. Which really didn’t help me enjoy this amazing time of the year when everyone is going crazy. And yeah it wasn’t some normal flu fever kind of thing, it was a viral infection, hundreds of people die in this country every year because of this virus. So I was worried whether or not I will survive it… :S
My status on facebook and twitter on the 01-01-11 was ‘M B A Khan has entered the new year as a Professional Photographer’. This means a lot to me, and I mean a lot! Last year really helped me to make my mind up regarding what do I ‘really’ want to do in life. I have been an artist all my life, that’s what I’ve loved doing, that’s what makes me happy, and that is really what I’m going to make my career in. Yes I have made my mind to become a Professional Photographer. I am going to follow my dream now. I know I have made some wrong decisions in life, but who doesn’t? I once read somewhere that not to learn from a mistake is a bigger mistake. So yeah, I will be one day photographing amazing things and living my dream to the fullest!
Anyway, I’ve got to get ready for work now and I’ll try not to be away for this long again.
Happy New Year Everyone!
Just a quick one, I spent the whole day in Hull today, and boy, boy, it was treacherous! It had snowed like mad over there. Later on I also got to know that the snow only came from the east which explains it all. Anyway, it was just about 2 feet and it snowed today as well in Hull. Back in Bradford there was no sign of snow fall today, but I’m sure we’ll get some more later on in December.
I was clicking the whole day with my Sony A300, and was falling in love my camera once all over again. I’ll surely put them up on Facebook, Flickr and of course some of them over here as well. It was about one and a half hours’ journey on both sides and I pretty much enjoyed the trip my two of my best mates here in UK.
All right, I’m off to bed now.
It’s 0130 hrs and the snow fall is taking me somewhere out of this world. I don’t know why I find snow strongly influential on my mood. No matter how bad my mood is, it just turns into a very pleasant one whenever it snows.
Snow is beautiful, isn’t it? So beautiful that it makes me think about all the good times I have had with some great people of my life, my Mama(Mom), my Baba Jan(Dad), my childhood friends and those very special people. I know that being nostalgic and snow falls are not related in anyway, but it just happens with me. I doubt it if it happens with other people, never asked anyone. I think it’s just because of the mood I get into… :S or maybe the flakes themselves, and the touch of the flakes when they land onto my face every time I look up.
One more thing I’d like to write about snow. It looks more beautiful at night. The glowing whites and the deepened blacks, the feel, and most importantly the flakes coming down against the dark black sky… Feels like I’m dreaming and looks magical.
I love you Snow… 🙂
