Yeah, it’s been ages and now I have come up with something…
here it is, please don’t laugh 😛
My Artist Statement and My Logo!!!
Hi, I’m M B A Khan and I’m an addict, because photography is so addictive!
Always on the edge for opportunities to inspire and be inspired by life and I do it by capturing and savouring those captivating moments. Making pictures that talk. My style is bold – Colours that pop and scream at the viewer. My photography has this surreal touch to it, because “if it’s life-like then what’s that point of photography?” Just like Alfred Stieglitz said and I quote, “In Photography there is a reality so subtle that it becomes more real than reality.” I make pictures that are sometimes unimaginable at first, until I experiment and discover something that can take the viewer beyond imagination. And I do all this with a camera and a lens in front of it.
Photography to me, is not just reflection of reality but also the idea behind it, it’s not as simple as expressions of emotions but also the stories behind them, it’s not mere imagination but how you portray it, and photography is not only a concept but the understanding and implementation of it.
I’m always learning since I’ve found out about my love for photography. You learn with each click that you do. I’m always in the process of evolution in regards to my style of photography. “The way I see things is different, different in colour, shape, taste, value, age and philosophy of it, and this is the creative difference I want others to see in my art.”
Creativity in photography is just another name for experimenting, the more you experiment the more creative you become.
So yeah, I already have a portfolio of such creations, hope you’ll like it…
So? What do you think? 😀 😛
Your blog post reminded me of an incident which happened with me!
What happened was that I was travelling on such a bus in Pakistan and I gave a 100 rupees note to the ‘conductor’ (same age as mine at that time, about 16 or 17), he gave me the wrong change back. When I asked him, he said something and then I said something back which I honestly don’t remember, but what I remember clearly was that we ended up arguing about something and I said those harsh words after which he ignored me and moved on to the next passenger.
What I said was: “Agar parh likh letay to yeh din na deikhna parta na!” Translation: “Only if you were educated you would have been better off!”
I’m 25 years old now, almost a decade older, but it still kills me from inside whenever I get reminded of it! :S But I guess I was an ignorant little brat who was doing his O levels at that time and didn’t know shit about life and what to say and what not to say… :S
I would’ve never realised what I’ve said to that poor fellow, but only when one of my best friends (Ibrahim) who was also travelling with me reminded me of it when we reached home. He told me that what I said to the conductor was not nice at all. Then I relived the whole incident in my head and realised how cruel I had been to the conductor.
So yeah, I still feel bad about it and I wish that if I have hurt him, he forgives me before aakhirat. It’s a burden on my chest. :S
What if that bus conductor was never educated? What if he wanted education but he or his parents couldn’t afford it? What if he wanted to become a bus conductor and he liked his job? What if it was his destiny and it was chosen by Allah Mian for him to live his life as a conductor? What if he was only doing it temporarily because of some unavoidable circumstances? What if I have hurt him so much that he cursed me later on? What if he started hating every other pupil that got on to that bus? What if… and What not.. :S
All these questions disturb me even today… 😦
May Allah forgive me for my sins and prevents me from hurting people like this in future! Ameen
Lessons Learned: Always think twice before you say anything. Never judge anyone for something which is not in their control.

This long awaited post of mine is finally taking its shape today and finally I have managed to gather words to put together.
I was on my way home from office on 19th of October when this incident took place that really made me learn something thought provoking that our society needs to think about. Well I got the bus and since there was no place to sit, I was standing , accompanied by bunch of other women who were as exhaust as me, yet they had to reach home in time. So this mid-age bus conductor of the coach made a deliberate effort to get in the ladies compartment and started asking for Bus fare. One of the ladies whom he asked, said that “Mai ne apko hundred rupees diye to thay”. ( I had given you hundred rupees already ). To which he replied, “Yeh hundred kia hota…

Innit??? Yeah, I know… 🙂 Thank you 😛
One of the first photos from the Euro Trip by M B A Khan. There are so many more to come! — This one is with Firas Mazloom, Hassaan Ahmed, Furqan Warsi and Fahàd Azmi just by the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France.
Yes, Today I will be doing my first ever professional photo shoot – A friend’s Wedding Reception. I’m all excited and nervous at the same time because obviously this is the first time I’m doing something like this.
All night I was thinking about the compositions, people, style, technique and what not, but I know when it comes down to action the best shots are just those decisive moments that cannot be predicted or planned. I mean I’m just going to take it easy but also my approach will be comprehensive(I don’t want to miss anything, do I?), the way I normally shoot, I’m just going to stay simply original.
I have done all my homework for the photo shoot, all gear checked, lenses cleaned, cards, batteries, flash, backpack, all sorted! I’m doing this for my experience, and I thank so much for my friend to give me a chance. I’m sure it’s going to be a major confidence boaster and a big step forward in my photography career. I hope everything goes smooth and just perfect, finger’s crossed…!!!
I so wanted to take my friend with me, but he’s stuck somewhere and I’ll have to do it all on my own, which is not going to be a problem, but you know having a friend next to you always helps.
Other than that, we were out shopping even yesterday, whole day, for the euro trip… That is another big thing happening in my life this year. Alhumdulillah… 🙂
and last but not the least, I’ve made a new fan! So thank you so much my new fan, you’re the best fan 😛

LOL, I know not many people read my blog, but still I have to write… don’t I? 😛
Anyway, since like past 5 years I’ve been wanting it and finally 2011 is the year when it is actually happening! Yes I’m talking about the long-awaited Euro Trip. The Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Spain and France… WOW… I’m too excited about this… 🙂 And we’ve made a Facebook Page for it as well. So yeah we’re leaving on Monday the 3rd of October. Destinations include… Amsterdam…Koln….Frankfurt…..Zurich…. Venice….Milan…Pisa…Cannes…Montpellier…Costa Brava…Barcelona…Valencia…Granada…Cordoba…Madrid…Paris..
5 of us going are Fahad Azmi, Furqan Warsi, Hassaan Ahmed, Usama Ahmed and Myself. I’m sure it’s going to be a trip to remember!
The best thing is, I will get to document the whole trip with my camera and yes I will upload pictures… hopefully thousands of them! It will also do me good as a photographer as this will be my first ever travel photography experience. We have hired VW Tiguan 4×4 for the trip. Most of the travelling is by land except to and from the continent. We’re covering almost all of the Western Europe in like 12 to 14 days and that too by road, WOW, just WOOOWWWW! Adrenalin Rushing!
Other than that, I know… and I’m still working on it… My Portfolio Website… right? 😛 Yeah I know… inshAllah as soon as I come back, it will be the first thing on my priority list! It’s almost done BTW 😉
